Here I am, writing my first post to welcome you on my blog so to give you a brief introduction and eventually we can start this journey together.

I am a 25 year old woman, even though if I have to be totally honest I don’t really feel that I fit such a title as I still don’t consider myself adult enough to be called a woman. You know, I feel quite young at heart. I was born and raised in Malta, one of the main islands forming the Maltese Archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean, although for the past two years I have been living in Luxembourg for work reasons. No, I am not a banker nor an economist; I am a linguist who is trying to make an experience in a multicultural and multilingual country, as is Luxembourg.  Apart from work, I have also been finishing my thesis for my Masters’ degree and shall be graduating in the next month.   After finishing such an important achievement in my life, I had some extra time on my hands and I was always trying to find something extra to do; until one day I started thinking about starting this blog. I felt that this was just the perfect thing to do, and so I decided to embark on this new challenge!

Food is the main topic of this blog, where I will share traditional recipes and other recipes, in which I experiment and try to create something different. My passion for cooking and food started from an early age, I can remember perfectly the time when I was four helping my mother on Sundays cooking and baking our own bread rolls; for me this was the best thing I could ever do. When I started growing up my mother always trusted me in the kitchen, in fact from the age of ten I could easily cook a basic meal on my own. The funny thing is that, although my mum cooked every day and taught me several things in the kitchen; she is not the most avid cook, and whenever she found the opportunity, she would ask me to cook for the family. To tell you the truth this was never an issue for me, as I enjoyed every second of it; it felt great being able to try and experiment with what there was in the pantry and creating each time something different. This passion for cooking and for food in general, continued growing when I started travelling more. I made it a must that everywhere I go I tried most of the traditional food and experience such pleasures one can only find in different countries. I still  have much more travelling and eating to do, but for now I use all that I have gathered in my travels and try and reproduce it the best I can or I try and mix various flavours from different countries.

If all of this seems appealing, I invite you to continue reading this blog by subscribing and await some interesting recipes, which I will try, and post once a week. I am looking forward for your comments and feedback, which I will take note of, as I am willing to learn and expand my knowledge from all of you!

For now, I bid you farewell, but stay tuned, as I will be posting my first recipe soon!
